SPRINGFIELD – State Senator Jason Barickman (R-Bloomington), has received the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) Guardian of Small Business Award. The award is based on nine key issues such as prevailing wage, employee classification, pension reform, workers’ compensation, reduced filing fees, and opposing costly new mandates on small independent contractors.
“Small businesses are the heart of our state economy,” said Senator Barickman. “We have to help businesses by providing an environment in which they can grow and create more jobs for residents.”
The NFIB Guardian of Small Business award is granted when at least an 80 percent voting record is achieved.
NFIB is Illinois’ largest small-business association with over 11,000 dues-paying members representing a cross section of the state’s economy.
